ALICE MARTIN
Howdy family, friends and fans,
We're racing. We tried to be agressive at the start, and or position was, but we didn't have the power to pull it off, so it will be a come from behind victory. Doing pretty well out here, the breeze is up 20+ and we're fast reaching south and west.
That's it for now, back to the galley for me.

Hi Friends and Family,
Welcome to Hooligan's Weblog. It's pretty funny to me that we are diving into seafaring and blogging together. A little new with the old and yin for yang.
The intent of this blog is to keep you posted on our whereabouts and happenings as we race to Hawaii and wander home. But don't count on too much as we will be busy racing.
Today was the skipper's meeting and weather briefing. The official word on the weather (from Stan Honey, recent winner of the Volvo around the world race) is not pretty. Winter like patterns are prevalent in the Pacific, the usual High that keeps California dry all summer is wimpy and getting pushed around by Lows. The High is also the feature that typically provides racers to Hawaii consistent breeze. We expect to head south looking for favorable winds, before turning right and pointing towards Hawaii.
Tomorrow we'll be loading the boat with personal gear and food and do some last minute preparations.
Monday morning we'll meet at the boat kind of early and push off for Hawaii between 9 and 9:30. If you wish to stop by and see us one last time you're welcome. Our start will be at 11:15 off of the St Francis Yacht Club if you want to see us head out the gate. Just as a note to spectators, the Yacht Club will not be open. There are some public potties up on Crissy Field.
If this text blog isn't good enough for you here are some suggestions:
www.pacificcup.org - will have lots of info about all of the 43 boats heading to Hawaii.
www.iboattrack.com/racetracking.html - will be tracking a few boats in near real time and the rest of us based on the daily roll call positions
www.latitude38.com/LectronicLat/LectronicLat.html - local sailing magazine
www.sailingscuttlebutt.com/ - lots of sailing news
www.sailinganarchy.com/ - sailing news by people who think they are cooler than you
Thanks for checking in.
