Its already more than 6 weeks since I departed from the Netherlands.
I use SkyMate and I think its a great system.
You see, I have used professional systems like Inmarsat before
but for many things for example plain email Skymate is not only affordable but even beter. The WEATHER program is just GREAT.
I am not using the Weblog because I operate a website
www.henkdevelde.com
I wish SkyMate all the success in the world .... and think about a next item;
I am sure when SkyMate is operating a weathersystem like it does in the US but than in Europe with maps and forcastsareas like the Metoffce in the UK is using .....and here are the shipping forcast for the next 24 hours .... it would be great and SkyMate will spread all over Europe,
And the next thing; maybe low resolution pictures ????
regards
Henk

There is work enough to get Juniper and myself ready for the voyage.
The plan is to leave all materialistic things behind...although this sounds a bit drastic...watch this weblog next year.

Most of the times, the way to a goal is much more important than the goal itself.
When you are young you try to reach a certain goal but getting older you have to agree that during your whole life, the way you have reached it or not has made a person of you. Looking back at all those miles at sea there is no place to stay the rest of my sea going life but on board. Sitting here at the port of IJmuiden in the Netherlands the distance to the sea is short. IJmuiden is a seaport. But realizing my next departure means more than just leaving,,,,

Juniper was designed and built by Chris White.
Last month she was purchased by Henk de Velde and sailed across the Atlantic to the Netherlands. Henk will depart for the next long voyage next year.
In the first log-entry the website was mentioned but the direct one is www.henkdevelde.nl
Juniper is a 52 ft trimaran to be used for the 6th circumnavigation of Dutchman Henk de Velde. See www.henkdevelde.com
More details later.
