 We made it! Barbados!
Lat:13.2071° Lon:-59.6528°  Wind: ENE 14.0 kt | Temp:79° |

Arrived and set the anchor at about 2 a.m. local time in Carlisle Bay, Barbados after 26 days at sea! Very tired but we managed to celebrate with Champagne and caviar and finally in bed about 3 a.m. Checked in with customs, port authority, immigration and health and then sailed to Port St Charles to see if any slips available - not! But fueled up and now back to Carlisle Bay for a few days. Looking forward to tonight's National Championship BCS Game - Go Buckeyes!

 Getting Closer and Closer...
Lat:13.7763° Lon:-57.1645°  Wind: ENE 16.5 kt | Temp:79° |

Well the miles are slowwwwwly ticking away and the supplies are holding out - although starting to get critically low in the "important" column..."green bottle" beverages for Bob (Heineken and Tanqueray) and chocolate for Tania. Flying Fish are entertaining us again in numbers and that is about all we see. 138 Miles to go!

 Slowly making way
Lat:14.8711° Lon:-55.7971°  Wind: ENE 15.0 kt | Temp:77° |

The rolly seas continue and the wind is straight on our stern and light at the moment. Little to no sea life or other boats. Very warm though and the water temp is 31C or almost 88F. 238 miles to go!

 Happy Holidays and New Year!
Lat:23.9438° Lon:-41.2758°  Wind: NNW 19.0 kt | Temp:73° |

Hope this finds all with a great holiday season in full swing. We spent our Christmas with DVD's of "White Christmas" and "Chevy Chase' Christmas Vacation". We will watch our traditional "Young Frankenstein" tonight and celebrate with a little bubbly tomorrow! Still moving westbound with rolly seas and unsteady winds. 616 miles to go to Barbados. Have a safe and fun New Years!

 Attention K-Mart Shoppers!
Lat:19.1093° Lon:-38.1965°  Wind: ENE 17.0 kt | Temp:75° |

Only 2 shopping days left...Bob better get on the ball! Ha! Unfortunately 1 Flying Fish decided to attack overnight-he did not make it...although Tania attempted to throw him back! We are at the half-way point! YEA!

 Flying Fish Festa
Lat:20.6563° Lon:-34.6754°  Wind: ENE 15.5 kt | Temp:74° |

We are still trucking along. The wind is not entirely cooperating but we are headed in the general direction of Barbados-which is good! The Flying Fish have been multiplying daily and so far no "kamakazies" on board. Only 3 shopping days left for Bob...1485 miles to go!

 "Big Boy" Flying
Lat:23.1865° Lon:-29.6552°  Wind: N 16.5 kt | Temp:72° |

After some mixed attempts of sailing with our new .75 Asymetrical - nicknamed "Big Boy" we finally were able to "fly" him successfully yesterday. He is quite handsome when fully inflated...and we were able to make some headway through the "High" pressure system we had sailed into. Today is different with very rolly seas and higher winds again - hopefully we have found the tradewinds...no other boats seen...only some Dolphins and a few birds...but we are making headway...1810 miles to go! Remeber...only 6 more shopping days left!

 Leaving Canary Islands
Lat:27.3871° Lon:-18.3473°  Wind: NE 15.5 kt | Temp:69° |

We're on the "road again" and after a busy evening (almost returned to the marina for lack of winds and rolly seas...) we perservered and are 2474 nm from Barbodos.

 On a side Note...
Lat:38.4394° Lon:-31.1526°  Wind: NNE 8.5 kt | Temp:68° |

Forgot to mention in the last post the reason crew is getting anxious (Gary M you always get it right!) Heineken on board was depleted 2 days ago and Tanqueray is in Jeopardy as of today...

If we could just get there from here...
Lat:38.4304° Lon:-31.2051°  Wind: NNE 8.5 kt | Temp:68° |

ERGGHHHH! Wind HAS NOT been favorable for over 4 days now! We keep slogging away 12 miles a day-Yechhh! All crew is getting anxious to finish but just cannot do away with this NE wind. On a lighter note...it's amazing how much planning and work goes into preparing to undertake an adventure such as this-for example; conversation between 2 yachts a few days ago on CH16: BoatA: "Do you have a chart of the Azores?" BoatB: "No,Do you?" BoatA: "No, we do not either but we have a great guidebook." (Tania thinks: "From Where, AAA?") Amazing...116 miles to go!LOL! B&T

 Ride'n a Rock'n Horse!
Lat:40.0438° Lon:-36.4675°  Wind: NNE 9.5 kt | Temp:65° |

Crazy wind and even crazier waves now! Had a great Sat. totally becalmed. Went swimming. Dolphins came to check it out. Tania went to get her camera and Bob went back into the water. They would have NOTHING to do with him! Stayed on the opposite side of the boat! HA! Tried to fly our great little kites (from Debi & John Bookas - "thank you") but to no avail! Wind finally picked up yesterday morning (Happy Father's Day to all), and stayed with us til now. Double reefed main, and reefed yankee. According to weather from a freighter should start to subside sometime later or tomorrow. Our arrival has been delayed because of the calm weather. Should be there on Thursday now! 283 miles to go! LOL! B&T

 "They call the wind Mariah..."
Lat:37.0743° Lon:-40.4993°  Wind: W 6.0 kt | Temp:70° |

We sure could use some of that! Less than 6 kts from the stern. At least the waves/currents are taking us in the proper direction.Spoke with a S/V last eve from St.Martin to Horta (they were so excited to see us-first sailing yacht they had seen)They are pushing hard with engines because they are on a tight schedule and we will probably not see them in Horta.Lots of weird looking jellyfish today,Bob just saw a turtle, and the wildlife continues to harass Tania on her watches. Night before last a Dolphin (with no prior warning) jumped about 3-4 feet out of the water right next to her on her 2-4 am watch. Scared the .... out of her! 550 miles to go! LOL! B&T
